 Side stretch wheel pose or Parswa Chakrasana is a whole body workout. 

Strengthen and stretch the muscles.

When you complete one chakrasana you get 4 inhales and 4 exhales.

We have to strengthen the tension sensitive areas to cope up with any stress related issues in our day today life.

Chair Pose 1


 Chair Pose 1 is a low squat pose. 

Strengthen the legs, hands,  hips and abdomen.

It’s a whole body workout.

Steps 

1. Stand erect, with hands on your dorsals.

2. Inhale, stretch out your hands in front and raise on toes.

3. Exhale, squat down on raised toes.

4. Inhale, raise up 

5. Exhale, back to original position.

Repeat for 3 to 5 times. Include in your routine workout to get the results.

കോവിഡ് കാലത്ത് ഒരു തീവണ്ടിയാത്ര


കോവിഡ് കാലത്ത് ഒരു തീവണ്ടി യാത്ര. യാത്രകൾ ഏറെ ഇഷ്മാണ്. കഴിഞ്ഞ 18 മാസം ദീർഘദൂരയാത്രകൾ ഒന്നും ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു. വാക്സിനേഷൻ കഴിഞ്ഞതിനാൽ രണ്ടും കല്പിച്ച് യാത്രക്ക് തയ്യാറായി. 
രണ്ട ദിവസം മുൻപ് ടിക്കറ്റ് ബുക്ക് ചെയ്തു.
അവധി ദിനമാണ് തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തത് യാത്രക്ക്. 
റയിൽവേസ്റ്റേഷനിൽ യാത്രക്കാർ കുറവ്, തീവണ്ടിയിൽ യാത്രക്കാർ വളരെ കുറവ്. യാത്ര നന്നായിരുന്നു. 
ജാഗ്രത പാലിക്കണേ, ഭയം വേണ്ടേ വേണ്ട😀

Action bound service of Blue Dart, Aluva






We are so happy to know from our daughter that she got the parcel send by us through Blue Dart, Aluva, on the fourth day. We sent it on 2nd August 2pm. Friday early morning we got FaceTime call from our daughter showing our gifts from us in her hands. 

We are proud of the service of Blue Dart, and we are of course going to share our happiness to our family and friends. On enquiry the message received from Ms Vijina, was it will take maximum 10 days to reach in USA 🇺🇸 Thus we purchased the clothes, stitched and made it ready to courier. 

We were lucky to get the 50 percent Onam offer too.

Then also Vijina assured me within a week we can expect the parcel. To our surprise it happened on the 4th day, a real happiness on all of us, sender, receiver and the courier company Blue Dart! Thanks to the whole team in the office and very special thanks to Vijina for the right guidance and the cordial and honest approach towards us! Appreciate your valuable service 🙏

Get engaged yourself to have an active day

If we can inspire or motivate others you are great.
A day of my beloved husband is really giving me great lessons to keep active and stay safe and healthy. Being seniors we are not having a strict schedule. That’s not an excuse. It is your option whether to stay active and healthy. Day starts at 5am.  Morning prayer, yoga and reading the first phase. Then comes newspapers and breakfast. Next is homestead gardening. After lunch one hour TV time. Then preparation of assignments for webinars or counselling. Evening watering garden! Back 7 pm evening prayers, TV time, dinner before 8 pm. After dinner watching TV for our company along with his favourite book to get into. 10 pm to bed 🛏 for a beautiful day ahead! I love the way! No trips due to the Covid pandemic! So we are getting adjusted to the present scenario so happily and gratefully 🙏🙏

 

Happiness on our way if we feel so💕

When we get a message from our daughter settled in USA 🇺🇸 for traditional wear s we decided to shop for them. Metro is starting very near to our house. Went out, had a great shopping 🛍 with beautiful stuff! After a long gap of about 20 months we enjoyed the beauty of shopping rather than groceries and be! Awesome feel. We are happy for the day!❤️

Greatness in life is real service





I am really blessed 😇
The yoga I learned in my thirties are leading me to bliss!
In this pandemic situation our passions -travelling, photography, visiting friends and relatives, inviting friends for a meal, attending marriage, birthdays, housewarming, visiting our ancestors every thing comes in a hurdle! I am a social being and we both used to visit our children who are in other continents! 
Then came the idea of starting a YouTube channel!
Me and my husband made it come true! 
Lot of restrictions for us to come up well in the field!
But we are not at all behind, we are going on!
My YouTube channel gave me some friends who are keeping in touch with me for consultation and learning yoga 🧘‍♀️ 🧘‍♀️
Started face to face individual yoga for those who are interested! 
So happy to get a few for advance course!
Now am really busy with activities for the society being at home 🏠 
Last week started a group for ‘yoga’ for women!
It’s coming up nice 👍 
These are some of the clicks of the google meet classes!
What now going on is, normal class at 6.30am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, special classes on Wednesday and Saturday!And of course Sunday off !

Lockdown Special @ home


 Age is not a criteria to avoid or keep away our likes.

It is lockdown and restrictions around. Now a days when we are alone at home, we won’t go for more sweet high calorie dishes. But how long can we wait. 18 months, a long time. We went to hyper market and was not able to control myself. Just bought ice cream.

Back home, with the dried fruits in our pantry, made this delicious vanilla strawberry dried fruits ice cream. Enjoyed the sweet after a homely lunch. Extra workout is needed and of course done ✅ 

Don’t forget your extra workout after having high calorie dishes.

Books are best friends. Why? The book with you can become your close friend. So selection of books is very important. Go for general knowledge, poems, stories, literature books, travelogues and self help books. If no electricity you can read your book. Reading gives sound sleep. Reading helps you grow physically and mentally. Reading helps to start writing too. Go for hard copy books and maintain a library at home to read and share.The first reading day starts on June 19th 1995. Started in fond memory of P.N. Panicker, father of Kerala Library Society. June 19th is the death anniversary of P. N. Panicker.

Lockdown gardening- Krishna thulasi


Krishna Tulasi (Holy Basil) the queen of all herbs!
It is an aromatic perennial plant.
Family: Lamiaceae, Genus: Ocimum
Species: Ocimum Tenuifloram 
It is widely cultivated in tropics.
Tulsi helps in the healing of human body in nature’s way!
The phytochemicals are oleanolic acid, ursolic acid, rosmarinic acid, eugenol, carvacrol, linalool and caryophellene. ( courtesy Wikipedia)
Tulasi is a sacred plant for Hindus and is traditionally planted in the centre of the front courtyard of their houses. 
Excellent for home remedies to cure fever, sinus, cough, cold, sore throat, indigestion, skin problems, insect bites, warts and even for diabetes, kidney stone and thyroid. It is widely used in Ayurveda, Naturopathy and Siddha vaidya. 
Basically it is a mint with a spicy aroma.
The steam of tulsi leaves are excellent for inhaling.
Tulasi tea, coffee and concoction are so good for digestion and enhances immunity.
Tulasi water and the leaves as it is are good for weight loss, anti aging and for boosting stamina.

Lockdown gardening about Panikoorka

Plant from our homestead!
Panikoorka or Njavara the Malayalam name. 
English names are Indian borage, country borage, Indian mint, African mint, French Thyme, Spanish Thyme, Cuban oregano.
Scientific name is Coleus amboinicus.
Belongs to Lamiaceae family.
Genus is Coleus.
Propagation is by stem cuttings and seeds.
It is a tropical and subtropical plant.
A fast growing plant both outdoors and indoors.
The plant prefers well drained soil and semi shaded areas.
It is used for culinary purposes in other countries.
In India and especially in Kerala it is widely using as a home remedy for fever, cold, cough, sore throat, digestive problems and ulcers. It is the grandmas secret tips handing over to the next generations.
It is having medicinal values and enhances immunity.
Carvacrol & thymol are the main plant chemicals in it.
The plain or sautéed juice of the leaves and stems is the home medicine. Sautéed leaves can be put on the crown of the babies to get relief from fever and cold.
The leaves can be boiled in drinking water and tea.
The leaves can be added in boiling rasam and moru curry while cooking.
The leaves can be dipped in gram flour batter and deep fry to cook crispy pakoras.

Let’s stay positive and healthy 😇


OMG 😮 2020 the year of Covid 19 pandemic.
Waited for a year to get the vaccine to common man.
It was online registration. Registered on 1st March and got the date on 15th March in our nearest vaccination centre. Vaccine was Covi Shield 🛡 The next date assigned after 28days. That too have to register online.Don’t know why, by the time, during first week of April the announcement came after 1st dose of Covi Shield, one can wait up-to 8 weeks and need to go for the second dose in between 6-8 weeks.Even now  I am surprised why it happened? 
No worries 😉 we got online booking for second dose vaccine on the 29th day of the first vaccination. In the hospital also no worries about taking it on the 29th day. 
Again the common man is waiting to complete 6- 8 weeks, and some are really under the thought that getting delayed is more beneficial. 
May everyone stay healthy and safe 🙏🙏
Don’t avoid your second dose, go for it and let’s stay safe and blessed 😇😇

Flowers are gift of and from nature 🌺















Flowers are the signature of nature.
Flowers are beautiful and feast to our eyes.
All ages love flowers.
Then why can’t we take a little care.
Ordinary flower plants are good for travel people.
It can be grown with less care.
It needs watering, weeding and pruning.
Plants like hibiscus, ixora, ornamental palms, crotons, chrysanthemums, plumerias are some of them. Little care in our garden due to home stay in this pandemic situation of Covid 19 gave us a bloom of happiness with rainbow 🌈 colours.
It enhances our immunity through better physical and mental health.
